Trick to clutch lifter plate? Anyone?

Only thing i can think of is maybe a spring was not seated in the bucket causing just enough cross tension to let you get almost locked down but not fully seated. ..using a strong light and 'feeling' with a thin screwdriver on the plate-lifter, make SURE the springs are seated right Reference...

CLUTCH SLIP UNDER LOAD AT 7K RPM

I like to wind out the revs as long as she is pulling so i...

    first time sync attempt

Cool, had her out for a 30 mile quickie before the sun set on me and engine ran killer and after sync. Set fuel mixture screws at 2.5 turn out from the 2.0 factory recommendation, a lil fat to compensate for today's crappy gas, engine seemed to like it. Now to deal with clutch slip at 7k to 8k...

    first time sync attempt

Good was worried about 79 carb stack on 75 long block but seems to start, warm up, idle, keep temps and run like a scalded ass ape. no misses, idle hang or surging.

used Shell rotella 15w40 conventional but read jug and lower half of SAE donut has "CI-4" additive instead of being blank, looks like ill have to drain, swap filters and refill will recommended 5w40 zero additives conventional. website says 15w40 conventional has the following: "CK-4, CJ-4, CI-4...
