[QUOTE="westgl, post: 159927, member: 2025"] Hey DKL, Nice manifold build, Have you considered using a 1-1/2" id 5 position tee, and Not cut the 45's but glue the outside of the 1"ID 45's directly into the Id of a 1-1/2" id of the 5 position Tee,as the measurements should be very close for the 1" ID 45's od to fit into the 1-1/2" ID tee' ID in two positions. Then use a short piece of 1-1/2id tube as a reducing spacer, the length of the tee's position length for that leg, and your 1" id straight pipe directly into that for your runner lengths. This would provide a small amount more volume in using the 1-1/2" id. 5 pos. Tee, but retain the speed of the 1" ID tube in the runners. You would have more material, and maybe a stronger glue joint, being glued on the 2ea 45's to the 5 Pos. Tee, instead of cutting them short. As the throttle bore on my weber 34 ICT carb is 1-5/16" or slightly larger than 1-1/4", so at a 1-1/2" ID on the carb entrance of the 5-Pos. tee, using a 1-1/2" flange mount on the top of the Tee, may be a closer more open fit, as with any single carb. manifold, testing would have to be done. I like the idea of the ridged tubing. I had the Flex tubing (when I was using flex tubing) on my bike go flat when under Hard throttle, dont get me wrong it ran good, Hard throttle is addicting, (that's what she said) and believe me it was a hand full, to give a torquey single 2 barrel Goldwing, full throttle with only one hand on the bars and the other trying to feel around to see if the tubing was going flat under hard acceleration. Something else to think about. I am going to try this on my 84' GL1200. I saw that Home Depot sells the 1"id 5 position TEE's a package of 4 ea I believe for $12.80 for the 4pcs, so $3.20ea. seems like a good price, but at least at my local HD it said free shipping, if shipped to local store, but they had No store stock and had to bring them in from a distribution center.
