I'm excited about the advances being made in L.E.D technology and with more and more being sold the price is starting to come down quickly. At the Vegas Bikefest I couldn't help but buy this new L.E.D H4 headlight bulb. At just 18 watts compared to incandescent at 55 watts, that's a savings of 37 watts we can do other things with. The video shows it one way, real life is different. This bulb is very bright and not as bluish as the video and pics show. it's a good color light. I'd say about 4000 kelvin. It casts light further down the road so I should be able to adjust the headlight up which should make the high beam more effective. Still not cheap at $85 but I feel it's worth it to see and help be seen.
