:good: Kewl!
If you haven't already bought it, ask them if the valve body on the trans has ever been replaced. If they don't know, be prepared to have it done. That's the #1 issue with the trans, and I can guarantee you it will need it done eventually. Not too terribly expensive, but not super cheap either. IF/WHEN the car has ANY trans issues, just go ahead and plan on replacing the valve body....don't even discuss it, just do it. I've fixed prolly 90% of them with just replacing the VB in the car. Other than that, the trans is usually trouble free. :good:
Does the IF/WHEN include when you first put it into drive and it suddenly clunks into gear? :crying:

Depends on if there is a delay involved. If you move the shifter into "D", does it take a few seconds(more than 2 sec) and then engages with a bang/clunk? Then, yes.
If it engages immediately with a bang/clunk, it may simply need to have the trans adapts reset, and the "garage shift" relearned. That would require a scan tool or a trip to your local trans shop/dealer....

Sooo......the 2002 Volvo broke down on the highway last week. Had to run out and rescue my now 21 year old daughter. Had the car towed to Volvo. Bad news.......

The timing belt broke. Engine was at highway speed. Interference engine. Not good.

The engine is blown. :head bang: :cheeky: :crying:

Apparently, when Volvo says it is an interference engine, they mean it! Valves broke off, all 5 pistons took a hit. $8300 for a replacement engine!

The car has been in an accident, had transmission issues, front axles are clicking (axle boots torn), 132,000 miles on the vehicle, blown engine. Time to say, "Uncle". :deadhorse:

Always sad to see em go after years of faithful service.
Sort of like loosing a companion, friend,or pet.
:crying:
Sorry to hear about your loss.
Good, inexpensive, used cars, are still around.
My surprise was how fast high end cars loose their resale value.
Fords XJ8 Jaguars (2003-2009) being one :good:
Made of aluminum, with worn suspension being in need of work, after 80,000 miles,or so.
With a lot of the same suspension wear parts as other Ford vehicles, they are a good D I Y used car. :thank_you:
Love both of mine, they needed some work, as well as cash.
But the return is driving cars, that each cost more than my house, when new ten years ago.
Both still look, & run great, for around $20,000 total so far. :yahoo:
