If you want, I would be glad to take a look at your carbs.

I have the table setup with the ultrasonic machine and Pistol Pete just delivered the new seals and o-rings for our '81.

Sure, however I already dropped a bunch of cash on a single carb setup out of frustration.

I'm still going to try Dan's plan to drain them , what do I have to lose. If it still leaks, I can send them to you.

Thanx for the offer.

they seem to be really nicely made ...only thing wrong with manifolds that are out there for sale ...is you still have all the disadvantages of the stock intake horns and there set up for single barrel carbs ...witch isnt to bad a discount and a dft can be used with a 1 to 2 transition piece ....when it comes to one barrels seems to me dans using the best one ive seen work ...a china copy of and old jeep carb ...ought to talk to dan some on his carb ....

Is someone making and selling these now? Not long ago someone else here bought one that looked the same.

Actually, i was going to just make the PVC version but I'm wanting to ride so I just went ahead and bought the thing.

Ebay has a few sellers for this but they are expensive.
Here's my rational behind the purchase. The small town I live in, I would spend most of my weekend running around trying to find the pvc pieces and I am at the end of my rope already :help: Paid $50 for carb and alot more for the manifold but once it gets here, it should be a plug and play or plug and ride. The air filter I ordered is really cool looking. Pity it will be hidden or maybe it won't :eek:k:

I did run the carbs dry twice this morning and they still leak.

I would just say to this, don't sell off the stock carbs in case you don't like the single or having trouble getting it set up to run right. My 1 barrel was super easy to get right but I had already spent A LOT of time trying to get the 2 barrel dft set up so I had gained much experience already with tweaking and jetting.
I'm not trying to deter you or anyone from a single, set up right they are AWESOME, just saying save your options.

it appears as though there are 3 vacuum ports on this vw 34-3. 1 small on side and 1 small , 1 large on front. only 1 small vacuum comes off of the bike. ??? plug some ports?

yes id plug them ...i dont have much experience with this carb as others do here ...my single is the dft 2 bbl carb ....and one vacuum should go to the vacuum advance on the 1100 motor

So plug 2 and connect 1? does it matter which ones are plugged?

hmmm there should be one that pulls vacuum right at the throttle plate line iside the bbl of the carb...as said i dont have much experience with this carb...and the vacuum fluctuates with throttle plate position....
