I sold my 83 interstate (best bike, best seat) so I didn't hang out here much. I was working on a 78 naked. Finally finished it but I got old in the meantime and the seating position on that thing killed me after a couple hours. Sold it too. now I'm without.
I bought this thinking I'd put it on my 80 project. Well I got half way with it but that one kinda died on the vine.
I opened it to try it on but never used.

I was looking to keep my GL's running into the next few lifetimes.
Well......things changed and sadly I never got to try this out.
I sold the 1100 I was going to use this on.
I was keeping it with the option of using it on my 78...

What kind of clamps are you talking about? It is the odometer that is the problem speedo works.
Is that where the needle bearing is? I'll have to look up what a needle bearing looks like :)

The bike I have been working on for 6 years and finally got running has a defunct speedometer.

Bought about 5yrs ago. Swapped out the motor for low mileage motor thinkin this would be my touring rig. I was a bit more energetic then. :roll:

I think I'll put a 1800 m/c on the list of upgrades. I looked at some on ebay and the space they would occupy....looks tight. I saw the ngw discussion and will review that. Any tips or tricks I should keep in mind? thanks
