    FWIW the Valkyrie calls for Moly Paste on the final drive, maybe that is where it came from? And yes...use a brush and just coat the splines, more than that and it slings all over the place. I don't have my manual with me at the moment, but the Valk also calls for Moly Grease which is prolly...

    Reading through all the different forums it is my understanding that these old GL's had 'open' frames vs. a 'sealed' frames? I'm sure any bike out there without a 'sealed' frame is going to have rust inside of them especially ones this old. Could there be some rust inside the tubes...

    Ok, here are some more... I have since removed the false tank & the fairing... Removed the 'christmas tree' off the back...I'm thinking I need to find the stock taillight bracket... Aside from the bottom of the lowers there are no cracks in any of the body pieces... The only rust hole...
