    Advice on New Purchase

Since the one guy flaked out, I've found another bike about two hours away. A 1983 Interstate that looks to be in great condition and has 58K miles. I should make it up there to see it this coming week; with any luck, I'll be posting pics of my new to me Wing sometime in the near future...

    A Newbie Without Wing(s)

The guy about 50 miles away with the 85 Aspencade flaked out on me, but I found a 1983 Interstate about 150 miles away that looks to be in excellent shape. The owner is selling because he just bought a new Goldwing. The wife and I are going for a long ride this Sunday, so I might point the...

    Advice on New Purchase

Seeing as how I'm looking for something to restore, and not necessarily something to drive cross country right away, I've set a semi-flexible limit of around $2000. I do like the other bike in Broward, but it's a little more than I wanted to spend... Whenever I actually do buy one, I'll be...

    Advice on New Purchase

It was a 1985 Aspencade with about 77K miles for $2100. I think it would've been a good bike, but it's not the only one out there.

    Advice on New Purchase

I wish there were fewer flakes in the world!! :swoon: I got up this morning, went to the bank, took out a bunch of cash, and then called the guy for directions. We had agreed to meet around noon. My helmet, gloves, boots, and jacket were all ready. No answer. Tried again a little while...

    Advice on New Purchase

Thanks! Great minds must think alike; I actually had already set up an appointment to see one of the bikes on that list. I'm cautiously optimistic--I'm going to have my wife with me to drive the car home and I'm bringing my helmet with me...

    Advice on New Purchase

The more I think about it, I think it is probably better. I don't mind doing the work, i can do most everything myself (especially with help here!) and I have a wife who indulges my hobbies as far as $$ goes, but the more I thought about the bike the worse I felt. I don't mind finding a bike...

    A Newbie Without Wing(s)

It's kinda strange--the first think I thought when I brought home my Roadstar was, "I need another bike"!! I tried to talk my wife into letting me buy one for her, but she's perfectly content for now to be a passenger... I had never heard of MBS but now I'm afflicted with it.

Thanks for all the welcomes! I just had a chance to buy a 1983 Interstate, but he wanted too much money for the condition the bike was in. I actually posted three pics in a thread asking for purchase advice in the restorations section.

    Advice on New Purchase

I so much appreciate all of your responses. Due to my lack of knowledge about Wings, I didn't catch that some of the parts (speedo for example) weren't original. After scouring ebay and getting some ideas of the costs of some of the parts and after reading all of the responses here, I pointed...

    Advice on New Purchase

Greetings! I am new to the forum and am excited to be a part of the community. Ever since my uncle bought a Goldwing in the late 70's, I have always loved the bike. I recently bought my first "real" street bike--a 2003 Yamaha Roadstar 1600. Shortly after purchasing it, I realized that...

    A Newbie Without Wing(s)

Greetings All! I'm a new member and wanted to introduce myself. I surfed into the site from Google a few weeks ago and love what I see. I currently ride a 2003 Yamaha Roadstar 1600 and am very interested in adding a classic Goldwing to the clutter in my garage. Until I'm able to do that, I'll...
