Rode to work today, with a high of 50. Tomorrow looks even better, around 58 in Denver. I'm super excited for the Colorado Motorcycle Expo next Saturday and Sunday. It's currently forcast for 64! What happened to winteR?

Copperwing wants a single carb so... copper manifold

The material is .325" it was some scrap from a past job I had. I'm not sure why they used that size. The copper flanges are 1/4 (.250") and the alternator bracket I made was out of 3/8 (.375"). It's just some oddball stuff. I don't have much faith in the groves I cut for the o-rings sealing...

Copperwing wants a single carb so... copper manifold

Tomorrow? Ha, who was I trying to kid? Well, the next day I did cut them apart and got one shaped. I got a fair bit of work done. I cut the runners and found some 1in vinyl tubing to bridge the gap. I'm not expecting it to last against the fuel but I like the clear. I pulled the doughnuts...

Copperwing wants a single carb so... copper manifold

I think I might cut 1/2in out of my runners and bridge them with hose. I've definitely noticed that it's much more difficult to line up the manifold when it's freezing cold versus the heat of summer. The extra flexibility would be nice. I was only able to get the holes drilled/cut out with the...

Thanks guys. I hate it when I put my foot down and I step in fuel or oil on the road! It feels like my boot instantly starts to dissolve... can't be good for tires either.

Here is a quick sketch of how I intend to attach the manifold to the heads. Should I put another piece of gasket material between the flange and the top clamp to allow for more movement?

Wow, October... slow progress... I've been doing some work trying to improve a bit. I've pulled the elbows off of the runners so I can add proper clamps like Canukxxxx did. I taped some 100 grit paper to a piece of aluminum plate and started on the top of my manifold. I didn't know I was this...

New toy, and be careful on ice!

Happy new year everyone! It's been a while since I posted, you know how the holidays can be! Back in November, my wife and I celebrated our 10th anniversary. While we were out, Mrs. Bug let me pick up this shiny new (to me) toy. She's a 2007 Harley Davidson Dyna Low Rider. Sheesh! That's a...
