    eBay Stuff for a 1500?

Many feel the Blackwing is a better brace machined to closer tolerance so fits tighter and holds the forks in postion better..than the Superbrace. Some who have had both said they can tell the difference..

    1500 trans

Lots of discussion on this topic..early 1500 some had issues with 4th gear going out..bikes still run but one had to skip 4th gear..in late 96 Honda started putting vallerie trannies in the 1500's stronger tranny no more 4th gear issues.since then. Some bikes had the issue some did not..may...

    78 GL1000 carburetor question

To solve you have to pull the carbs..take the caps off, hookup a fuel source at least 6' above the cabs..to simulate 2-3 lbs. of pressure..now look into the carbs..is gas coming up through a jet = float needle issue or float setting issue, if not there then a o ring issue between carb and...

How to repair a small crack in a side cover.

Not sure what q bond is but simple ABS plumbers cement the black stuff forms a chemical bond and is the "glue" of choice for Honda plastics. I use a toothpick to hold the crack open a bit wipe the Abs cement on pull the toothpick, clean up the outside of the piece and add a little more on the...

    GL1100 FRONT FAIRING REPAIR/PAINTING

You can buy abs sheets..heat them up in the oven and shape to fit. Then bond in place with ABS cement..sand and paint. I'd sand the whole fairing to remove wax, clear coat and to rough up the surface to take new paint.

Fourth gear fork gets bent or worn..and you loose four gear it tends to drop out ..they changed to vallerie tranny in late 96 has a heftier set up and the problem stopped. Not all bikes have issues..depends on how they are ridden/shifted I guess..but it its a known issue with pre 97 1500's

    Carb experts wanted!

Oh I get it..yep that's true but to simulate the pressure from a pump(OEM set up) you need the 6' feet as more pressure taxes the carbs ability to seal at all the points they can leak. running with a gravity fed system the suck of the cylinder at higher RPM's helps the system to keep up with...

    Educate me on the 1500s

They didn't fix the transmission issue until 97, a lot more power and smoother ride than the 100 or 12's..and most say more comfortable than the 1800's. All the tupperware is a pain to deal with lucky they don't need fixin' too oftern :)!!! I'd stick with 97-2000 models just for the...

    BaggerShield on the 1500

Seems like you could take a standard 1500 stock wind screen and make your own bagger...if I had an extra screen I'd give it a try. Cut off the top 10 or so inchs, match it up to the bottom drill some holes and there you go..maybe paint the bottom to block sunlight to protect the LCD screen a...

    Carb experts wanted!

I am a little late to this but..next time bench test the carbs like in this pic..caps off so you can see the jet tops, carbs leveled on the bench, fuel source at least 6' high to simulate 2-3 lb.s pressure, leak up through the jets = floats or needle issues, between carb and plenum D ring...

    Gl1000 fuel gage
