It's been a rough few years. I had pneumonia, which almost killed me, the next year I had a hernia, then my wife ran off with one of my best buds. A year later I was diagnosed with colon cancer. Stage 4. The treatment is harsh but it is working.
I just ran across a '79 GL1000 with a full Vetter kit. It only has 25K miles. It starts but probably could use a carb clean. The guy wants 1500 bucks. Should I go for it? I haven't checked out the charging system but it will need a new battery. I have a bit of experience with GL1100s, are they...
No I commute out of MCO I actually work out of Atlanta. I live in Seminole county right off of 17/92. I do have a small shop. My problem is that when ever a bike comes up for sale that's on my list, I buy it. We all have lists I hope. Any way, I have more bikes than room so I had to get a small...
I did. I bought a 1981 Suzuki GS250T with about 6k miles on it for 200 bucks. I use it around town all the time because it has a huge KG (remember them) touring carrier on the back with a milk crate strapped to it. It's the ultimate happy bike. All the young squids scowl with scorn but it gets...
I have the foot pumped one from harbor freight. I use it constantlly and have had no problems. It even lifts tha Ultra with ease. It has a removable panel so that you can change rear tires with out the hassle of removing the shocks. At it's full hight the carbs are about chest high. My only...
I just found a poor old TriPacer in Westfield Ma that was completely redone. The guy spared no expence. New covering, overhauled engine, new avionics. Then he died before he was even able to fly it once. A cryin shame. The airplane languished on the ramp while the probate courts decided who was...
I had a gn400. I rode the wheels off that thing. The 250 will be just fine. I agree it is a learners bike, but I wonder if it's not just a good all around motorcycle as well.
I have the sync tools, just keep running out of time. I used to be a CFI, I still could be but I don't do much flight training any more. I am a Capt for Pinnacle which is a Delta connection carrier.

I actually haven't synced the carbs yet. That's on the to do list. As for the pressed in jets, you can remove them. a little heat and a #2 easy out and they pop right out. There is a porcedure on the chopper charlies CX500 forum. I removed all of mine and yes one of them was completely clogged...
I did. I think that they might be leaking passed the throttle shafts. I thought those springs were to keep the shafts up against their seals. It is running better the more that I run it so it might just be because somthing was dried out and needed to loosen up.
