How do I replace spring in rear shock

I used air to blow mine apart. Just hooked air pump to valve and pumped air until they came apart. I placed them under a towel in a bucket on an angle so that parts and atf wouldn't go every where. also there are a couple of tech tips in the tech area gallery/album.php?album_id=1790

    Front Brakes and Speedo

I've got a replacement gear box, thought that what was broken up until this point. Glad I can get from local dealer. I'll have to see what seals/gaskets I need. Not sure what I need at this point. Wondering if there are duct seals that are missing?

    Front Brakes and Speedo

Yes, Looks like previous to my ownership, speedo non functional when I bought it, front wheel installed incorrect and crushed the gear box retainer. Which from what I can tell sits in the housing and causes the gear to turn. I'll post pics later phone died during tear down.

    Front Brakes and Speedo

I am in the process of replacing the front brakes and hoping to fix the speedo. Yesterday I took the front wheel off, calipers, and pads out (the pads were almost down to bare metal). Now I need to lubricate and put it back together. I found that the speedo gear, cable, and speedo work. However...

what brake rotors will fit 82 GL 1100I

I need to replace the brake rotors on my Goldwing. I have been looking at different ones all over, including ebay. What year rotors will fit on the 82? Are they all the same for the GL 1100 years? According to the after market parts sellers theirs will fit interchangeably between years.

    Rear Shocks

Placed them in a bucket to keep from blowing atf everywhere. See the first seal is popped. Second seal popped. All the old parts cleaned up, seal is not pictured. I put seals in and tried to fill with a syringe, but that did not work for me. I ended up taking them back apart, plugging the...

    Rear Shocks

I did mine this weekend, took me about 2.5 hours to get mine done. I had to use air input for the shocks to blow the seal out. When i go them off, neither shock had much fluid in them. Together they didn't have 1 fluid oz. The right shock wasn't leaking because it had virtually NO atf fluid...

    Rear Shocks

I checked the shafts on my shocks and they are pristine, for 30 years old, so I ordered the seal and new boots. Link below is where I got them. Less than $100 bucks, is better than cost of new ones, and better than a used set that may fail in any time. https://www.hondaparts-direct.com/fiche_...

    Rear Shocks

I stopped in a local shop that specializes in older metric bikes, old parts every where. Its called cycle-re-cycle in Indy. I liked the place. I asked about rebuilding the shocks and he tried to steer me to buying new shocks $300. However he also gave me some pointers on checking the original...
