    83 Ascot & 80 Wing

3 lights on the Wing gets a lot of "looks good" comments. Round light conversion for the Ascot looks proper. IMO

3 light bar on 80 wing

I bought a $40 Chinese light bar certain it wouldn't fit. It didn't but the lights bolted right up to where the side reflectors go on the headlamp. I like it.

    Brake squeal & Honda Shims

When I bought the bike I had a screech to squeal problem for months. Sometimes when braking other times slightly braking. Also faint at times when just leaning onto corners without braking. Annoying ! It had no brake pad shims. I originally bought and installed the left shims which made it...

    New guy from Boston

Congrats on the Wing. I'm close to you in Randolph and own a 1980 1100 Standard. This site and the other GW forums has helped me keep my Wing in top shape, by helping De-rust my tank, to saving my ignighters from the famous epoxy depletion, keeping my carbs fresh with a bit of transmission...

    Rice-O-Rama 2013

I'm going with some other riders. I'm shooting for 11:00 arrival on the Wing with a friend on my Ascot. Leaving Randolph (10 miles south of Boston) around 9:00 for a leisurely route out to Oxford. Sunday 8:45 - 9:15am leaving Dunkin Doughnuts/Sunoco Mazzeo dr. across from Ocean State Job Lot on...

    Slight skip at 3k rpm

Just wanted to follow up and complete the thread. Lots to clean when I took the plug caps apart, I fixed the loose cap by re-bending the clip wire that clamps the spark plug to the wire. I might just remove the resistors all together but for now I cleaned and dielectric greased everything...

    Slight skip at 3k rpm

Thanks guys for all for the suggestions. Last night It was back, but not as bad so I'm pulling the resistors out of the spark plug ends today to check for corrosion and clean. I did notice 3 plug wires went on with good audible clicks and the 4th not so much. I'll look into that too.

    Slight skip at 3k rpm

Can't seem to figure this one out. I have a totally stock 1980 with 37k that has a slight spiff that happens religiously between 3k & 3200 rpm. It's not constant but close to it. A bit Less when warmed up. It does not matter what speed or gear I'm in. If I play with the throttle between say...

The sidecovers of the bags were scratched up pretty bad so I Truck-bed coat, painted the lower outer lid and the center of the front fender to hide the sin and then added a gold pinstripe.

New member Dan from New England, Hi.

Thanks, That's my goal. Travel. This will not be a show bike. My goal is to make her a road warrior. I seek total reliability and as much comfort as possible on a half naked wing. So suggestions are encouraged, welcome and appreciated.

I'm pretty sure my other shield is a Slipstreamer S-00 Enterprise II I'll report on it when I swap it over. Right now I'm using the hardware on a Slipstreamer Hellfire that's on my Honda Ascot. I painted the back side black to give it a fairing look.
