    Change my fork oil?

I'm getting ready for a long trip to the Indy 500, the second I've taken on this bike with 38k showing on the odometer, and am wondering if I should change the fork oil or not and follow "if it ain't broke don't fix it". On the last trip the bum meter had no issues with the ride and there's no...

    Drag Specialties GL1200 backrest

I quickly put it on the bike this morning before heading to work, the backrest is facing forward. Will check it out this evening. Edit: Searched for another one and the bow goes forward on it with the backrest forward too. Edit edit: Going to try turning the rotating mounts 180 degrees then...

    Drag Specialties GL1200 backrest

Well I put it on and it doesn't lock into the upright position, flops backwards fine. Is there a method to lock it up I'm missing or is it broke?

    Drag Specialties GL1200 backrest

Do you see anything missing in the ebay listing that can't be replaced with store bought hardware? Thanks for the tip to check your photos btw. Another question, I read a post by more than one that complained about the backrest being too far leaned back, was this a problem for you and if so...

    Drag Specialties GL1200 backrest

Has anyone here used one on a long trip and does this look complete enough to mount? Since the rust is underneath the seat some rust converter with chrome spray paint should make it serviceable me thinks. https://www.ebay.com/itm/304886822466

Motor tech talk about my dive into EFI ON A C4 VETTE TUNE PORT INJECTION

In the 80's I bought an Edelbrock Performer intake and Holley 650 for my Ford Mustang II 302 in almost new condition at a junkyard for $200, a Weiand aluminum water pump for $25, an Erson cam and lifters for $60 new. Yep those were the days.

Motor tech talk about my dive into EFI ON A C4 VETTE TUNE PORT INJECTION

I have an '84 in line for a mild restomod after another bike. Since it's a TBI and more restricted than TPI the entire injection system is coming off for ye ol 4 barrel carb.

Open face shield necessary or not?

Thanks all for the input. TBH this is my first full dresser, in the past I've worn a full face and have wondered about the sense of having less obstruction with a 3/4 or even half helmet. The pictured helmet was a race collectable project and have worn it just a few times going around the...

Open face shield necessary or not?

Sometimes it takes a long ride to find something out and I haven't done so yet on the GL1200. With the standard size windshield up to just below eye level is a flip shield on an open face needed or will goggles/sunglasses do after hours on the road? This is my open face.

Just received 1986 GL1200 sits too high

Found a seat and a trunk backrest on ebay. The backrest was recently covered, the seat stored for some time and was filthy. Two scrubbings with Sprayway glass foam then a wipe down with 91% isopropyl alcohol, a rinse & dry in the sun (hair dryer on the seams), finally two coats of Dupli-Color...

Can't stop gas leaking past float needles

Update: The chrome gas cap shown earlier allows the tank to pressurize so it isn't two way vented. This fuel pump is functioning without leaks but it clicks too abet not as loudly as the original. Installation required splicing in the pigtail and removing the drain tube plus clipping the...

    New Member (from France)

I learned to ride in the 80's too, what a great era. Are you a F1 or other racing fan? I'll like to go to Le Mans one day.
