    My 1975 Cruiser

I had the '77 running and then it sat for four years...back through the carbs...Dooh! My goldwing ghuru buddy is building the carbs for the '76 and I'm swapping the labor by painting his brothers '75 blue wing. I thought he was going to faint when we went to the autopaint store and priced...

Thanks the tire although small 16" works great. The blue vehicle in the background is a 1969 c-10 Panel truck with barn doors in the back. More pictures of the truck: https://picasaweb.google.com/bertfoster ... 8797121602

    My 1975 Cruiser

I have not ridden a 1500 nor an 1800 so I wouldn't be able to answer your question. I do know that trying to beef up a stock front end is a waste of time and money. It was a lot of mental work, measuring, cutting, welding and some machining was involved to do the swap but all in all worth the...

    My 1975 Cruiser

To say it is better than before would be understating. It doesn't feel anything like before. Very little dive when braking hard and no bump steer on lumpy sweepers. It makes it feel more like a sport-bike. It feels lighter too. It holds the line you picked when cornering and it accepts...

    My 1975 Cruiser

I swapped the front off of a Hayabusa to get better/stronger forks and six piston calipers. I bought a Shoei fairing just before I painted the bike. Also I bought a new master-cylinder that better matched the Nissin calipers. I had the seat recovered with marine grade vinyl locally. A local...

Two plugs broken off in the head

Thanks for the positive remarks. There are so many things I want to do but I just can't round the money up for materials fast enough. It will all get done but slowly, much more slowly than I'd like.

I've already ridden it. I'm in the middle of painting. Actually waiting on a pin striper to do his thing and then I can clear-coat. A gold pin stripe will follow the edge of the tan creme and the Ivy greene

Two plugs broken off in the head

I used several different extractors Fortunately for me I have a friend nearby with every extraction tool set up known to man. One plug was so badly seized that I had to tap out the plug hole to a larger diameter plug. It works and only I can tell which plug is different with the boots on. I...

Two plugs broken off in the head

I hear you. We have four distinct seasons and none are very bad. In Winter we hardly ever have snow...then not much. It's gets pretty warm in the Summer mainly due to humidity. Spring and Autumn are the best. I can't get into too big a hurry as I don't have the funds readily available.

Two plugs broken off in the head

Not yet. I still have to change the oil and filter. I looked into the gas tank and there was zero rust. I'm hoping he drained the tank and ran the bowls dry. I still need to buy a battery as well. It shouldn't be long before I'll know something about whether it runs or not. You know I could...

Two plugs broken off in the head

I found out about those Wurth Time Serts a tad too late. I did notice that Time Sert is very proud of their kits (Over a hundred dollars)

Two plugs broken off in the head

Yes I got one all the way out but only got 3/4's of the second. I had to drill and tap and install a heli-coil. I will now have 3 12mm plugs ans one 14mm plug of the same heat range. I can't see it making a difference except to the "purist clique" of which I'm not a member. No one locally had a...
