'83 Aspy air compressor 'issues'

When filling/deflating the front forks, the air compressor works fine. However...when attempting to fill the rear shocks; the compressor runs...and runs... and nothing happens. I can hook up the shop compressor to the air valve on the onboard compressor and, while holding down the 'inflate' and 'rear shock' buttons, fill the shocks just fine.

1) I know the compressor works because I can fill the forks.
2) I know the air lines are connected to the rear shocks because I can fill them from an external source.

I do not know the system, but it sounds like there is a valve that is bad somewhere. Do you hear any air leaking from the pump or selector valve when trying to fill the rear shocks?

Brian - the pump is so noisy, it's too hard to hear...

john Im not sure the 83s are the same as the 86 mod. but I had problems with the switch for front to rear on mine. took it apart and cleaned the contacts works fine now . good luck

yep sounds like switch
