Ok here is an update. remounted carb now without vacuum leak, and re adjusted idle mix and idle speed screw. 1.5 + turns on mix screw. Idling pretty smooth at 1000 rpm. Quick trip in truck to autozone for aftermarket air filter, about 8 bucks. Using cutoff bottom of coffee can for filter top ( don't laugh it worked) for today so I could get a short test ride in. Low 60's today and just rode about 6 or 7 miles. Only bogged off idle once 'cause I pulled away from stop in 2nd gear. Only thing I noticed is maybe a little flat spot just under 5,000 rpm just before the secondary opens. But then it really does jump quick and will easily rev higher than I want to run this engine. I rarely take it over 7000 rpm and for me I usually run between 4000 to 6000 rpm I thought I would try a few different setups and probably will eventually but for now I'm going to try to put a few tanks of gas through this configuration and see how it works. It sure felt nice and put a smile on my face. I'll post a more long term test report when I get some more miles on it. If it starts to act up or give me icing issues I'll report it right away to all ,but count me as one more person who will never go back to multiple carbs. :thanks: for sharing info everyone. dave
