I have a Die Hard battery I bought in 2003: I put it on a "battery tender" (brand) 1 amp trickle charger every night. I am amazed. I've had bikes since 1973, and never had a battery last more than about 2 years.

Techninja, welcome to the site from New Jersey! :clapping:
Are you saying that the die-hard battery has lasted since 2003 and is still putting out?

Shocking as it seems, yes, it still works!

It was parked for several months, and when I cranked it, it took about 4 long attempts to get it running, and the battery had no problem at all.

Other people have had the same charger, and have not had a battery last a year.
I have no idea why it still works.

Thanks!
I have wanted a Goldwing since the GL1000 came out.

It is currently in "the shop"; waiting for a final drive. Apparently the gears ate themselves. 42k miles or so on it.

I replaced the water pump, but I was chicken and took it in for the belts and some other things.

I thought the top end went bad, but the mechanic says it was probably the starter chain. So no $600 rebuild there!

Glad to have ya aboard TECH.. as far as the belts.. the radiator was a pain to move around.. but the job wasn't that hard until I broke off one of the special bolts that hold the two covers together and attached to the head.. had enough sticking out to grab it.. could not free it.. so I cut it offf and tapped the gear backing plate it went through and replaced bolt with US standard.. can't see it when the shrouds are in place..
