I have liability insurance with Progressive that cost $76 for year round coverage. I needed to verify that the new Tag A Long trailer would be covered in that policy should the trailer do any damage to anyone else. Not covered that way.

They said that trailer coverage is actually "Accessory" coverage and in order to get that coverage I have to carry comprehensive coverage. (On a 33 year old motorcycle???)

They provided comprehensive with a $500 deductible with a value of $1500 for a 1982 Goldwing Standard. By carrying this coverage, the trailer is covered under the liability coverage PLUS comprehensive coverage up to $3000 for the trailer!

I couldn't wait to here how much this was going to set me back........

Turns out, with all of the coverage changes, my premium INCREASED over 100 pennies!! ($1 for the year)

So now my premium will increase from $76 per year to $77 per year with more than double the coverage I had before! :yahoo:

(Maybe Flo is right?) :hihihi:

Good thing you decided to cover the trailer. I don't normally get to use the words "good value" and "insurance " together :good:

Old thread, but I'll throw my $0.02 in.

One thing I'd recommend everyone does for motor vehicle insurance is to check the coverage limits. Some states have limits as low as $15,000 per person for bodily injury, which could easily be exceeded in a collision.
