choke cable does not stay out 1100

82 1100 just got it. Choke slides down after you release it. I tried to tighten the nut(bushing?) at base of the choke, but that wont work.

Also, brand new to this forum, how can I search for this or other topics? am sure this happened before.

If the plastic pinch nut is cracked, you might need to find a good used choke cable. I don't think it can be removed and replaced. If it's not cracked, and can be tightened, the plastic fingers on the end of the cable housing might be broken off. Again, find a good used cable. Plenty on ebay, or perhaps someone here has one.
 
Mine has a twist lock. If the mount is secure just pull the choke and twist the knob 1/4 turn clockwise I think. Hard to remember right now.
