Hi, Can anyone tell me if the digital clock in the fairing can be left running so that when you turn off the motor it doesn't stop the clock?

On my 82 aspy I was having the battery go dead after about 3 days if the bike sat. The only thing comsuming power was the clock and radio (to maintain tuner memory). I found a fuse in the radio wiring that when removed caused the power to the clock and radio to go off when I turned the bike off. That cured my dead battery issue. The radio and clock will come on when the bike is running but the clock does not maintain time and no memory presets for the radio. I don't usually listen to the radio and I have a watch so this issue is way down the priority list. Maybe that fuse is bad or has been removed on your bike.

Have you traced the wires from the fused yet??? did the PO wire in something else on that fuse line??? 3 days is a bit fast to rundown the battery on a system designed to draw phantom power for clock and presets..

There is nothing else on that fuse. I think there is a problem with the radio itself. When I do turn it on it works but seems to suck a lot of power. I just don't use it. It would be nice to have it working properly.

I have a tuner that does that also. I believe its a problem in the tuner.
since I had to buy all my radio parts seprately I figuered maybe I had an incompatable tuner...
maybe on from a previous model .
at any rate I know there is a way to switch the display off if you find the right wire you could toggle it, or I thought about taking out the resistor in the clock display unit, so that "dim" would be off... and bright would be on.
