Correct rear crankcase gasket for 1984 gl1200I

I need the rear crankcase gasket for an 84 GL1200I. Honda fiche shows part # 11394-371-306 for the 1984 gl1200, but it also says fits 1983 GL1100. Part # 11394-MG9-306 is given for the 1985 Gl1200 and part # 11394-ML8-003 is shown for the 1986-1987 Gl1200. Did Honda change the rear case each year?

The part # for the 84-85 Gl1200I rear crankcases is the same (11311-MG9-000); why would the gaskets differ from year to year?
