I watched a YouTube on this subject and really didn't understand the concept at the time. This morning while I was in a gentle turn to the right at 75mph I realized that was just what I was doing! I was slightly pulling on the left grip to turn right. It blew me away.

I like the phrase, "pushing the corner" as it works also and doesn't make your brain have to think of the counter steer. Pushing on the left side, causes a pull on the right side, and visa-versa The drivers' manual here says, "press down on the handlebar side of the turn."

I know of a very wealthy man who went out and bought a few Harley's. On his first ride, he wouldn't let his instincts take over, insisting it had to be like an automobile. He kept trying to steer it like a car. He finally stopped and waited for help, which when it arrived, he asked, "How the hell do you steer these?"

Ah.....the ol' "Push to turn" deal. Yup...it really IS natural instinct on two wheels....even on a bicycle. Every now and then, when I'm on a long sweeper, like a cloverleaf/interchange, I find myself pulling on the turn side of the bars, and going wide. Once my pea-brain kicks in and pushes the bar on the other(correct) side, it immediately gets back on line. Physics....who knew?
:hihihi:

And..the "push to turn" method is the quickest way to do a lane change, or debris avoid maneuver.
