Not hard per se Joe, just very time consuming and all the wires and vacuum lines look intimidating when you first take all the plastic and shelters off. Unlike the American manufacturers, Honda seemed to go out of their way to make it easy for the do it yourselfers. For example, every wire on the entire bike has a plastic connector and are all different shapes and impossible to reconnect wrong, and believe me, there are many.
What's amazing to me is that after you get all the plastic and shelters off, how similar they are to my 30 year old 1100.
I think you would love working on them.

I've mentioned this elsewhere before, but I helped my buddy change the air filter on his '06 GL1800 and by the time we peeled back all of the plastic, wire harnesses and other parts that were in the way, we were'nt even sure we were working on a motorcyle anymore! :smilie_happy:

It looks like a jet plane under there. I feel sad that I won't be able to do most of my own work on her like I used to for many reasons mainly living in an apartment. But I love this bike so much(can ya tell?) it's worth the trade off.
