83 gl1100. This was probably a standard because it has mismatched luggage that was painted to match the faux tank. Paint is pretty good with some orange peel. I replaced, the water pump, timing belts, fork seals, oil, coolant, rear tire and rotor, rebuilt rear mc, crash bars, starter motor, sandblasted and painted the tank, rear frame, many many parts like wheels, MC, exhaust. Now I'm putting on shakedown miles to see how reliable it is. This my first wing and I love it already. Now I'm torn between moving on to a little better one or keep this and just ride it mercilessly while continuing to make small upgrades like new rear luggage cause one cover is missing.

Edit...the crash bars are still on the shop floor. To see some of my early progress I started a thred in new members "new guy in buffalo". ( don't know how to show links yet)

Nice!! you are right in that it was likely originally a Standard. But back then you could have these bags and a Vetter fairing installed at the dealership when new!
