Heard in the news that the high temperature somewhere in OZ yesterday was 122F. That's getting closer to the Death Valley record of 134F. Either one is way too hot to be riding a bike.

It hit 110F here a few years back when I rode my bike to my cousin's funeral. She was 104 years old when she died. A couple of mourners went to the ground that day as we stood at the graveside for the final rites. Her dad (my great-grandfather) served in the American Civil War and she had his Army discharge papers with Lincoln's signature. Since Lincoln was killed in April 1865 and GGF musted out in the summer of 1865, I guess they were using printed signatures back then.

The daytime temp is bad but the nighttime record temp of 35.6 C (96F) would of been a killer without aircon. I don’t mind high desert daytime temps as long as it cools off at night.
