When I was 5, my parents had a wing that I got to ride to church with dad if I was good all week. Since then, I have wanted a Goldwing of my own.

A couple weeks ago, I picked up a GL1100 Aspencade for a song. Now, I just have to figure out the charging system problem without tripling my investment. Going to check the rectifier this week, hopefully it is just that simple. Or maybe there is a wire that is shot, or it could be the battery, which I doubt because it was replaced in July. Luckily, I have a lot of friends much smarter than I when it comes to electirical problems to help me sort it out.

Welcome to the best classic Goldwings forum.

Greetings from the Sunshine State.

Live long and prosper. God bless you.

Welcome to Classics from PA!

Check the three yellow wires and the connector just in front of the battery. This is the stator wire harness and that connector can melt and cause all kinds of problems.

Welcome to the forums pinski! I hate to have to tell you this, but it sounds like the stator is bad. This will require pulling the engine to replace. We can help you with this if you choose to do so, lots of friendly folks here willing to help. You can start a new thread in the 1100 or electrical sections of these forums to get the ball rolling.
