Picked up a set of ignition coils off a 1985 1200 limited; thought I might get lucky and it had the TCI box like my interstate but it doesn’t; instead it has the TCI’s on the front of the coils...and there’s two of them!

In theory - if I wire the two together (colors are the same on both sides) would it work the same as the box which was on my bike? Just looking at ideas until my TCI shows up.

That looks like a patch together thing and the TCI look to be from a 1100 series of bikes ...I’m not sure this will do anything for you in my opinion

The donor bike was a 1985 Limited - these two boxes appear to be identical (P/N MPS-200) same wires and all. However it’s missing the large pin which tells me this is likely the MOSFET side of the TCI; there’s another box which should have the controller side in theory...Maybe Dave will chime in

The short answer is no. These are the spark igniters, have nothing to do with the CDI box that you have on the ASPY. Looked at the wiring schematic for the '85 ASPY and there are no spark igniters for the carb bikes. The CDI box has an interface that mimics the spark igniters you show. On the limited these are controlled by the ECU. No amount of rewiring these will give you a CDI box style interface.

Good luck.
