83 aspy, ,, want to change the color from grey to black on the trunk backrest and the two side pocket's... seems like I should use a dye you would just rub on.. or,, 'paint' in an aerosol can? any suggestions?

Never heard of a dye for vinyl but there may be, I have used the duplicolor spray vinyl with good results, I used alcohol to scrub them and get off the silicone from years of armor all and other treatments before spraying.
I also found the black to be too shiny, an unnatural look but there is a semigloss spray I have been told looks more natural to real vinyl , haven't used it yet so I don't know.

kewl,, duplicolor makes a 'satin',,, u would think that would b about right.. also you used alcohol to clean,, I was thinking paint thinner,, that maybe to strong.
yes there are dye's,, one I almost bought say's it's acrylic,- that stopped me

Yes the satin is what I heard looks right. I`m not sure how paint thinner dries, I know vinyl will absorb to some degree so you want something that will evaporate, I used denatured alcohol that dries very thoroughly fairly fast ,regular soap and water will work too.

thanx,, couldn't find the duplicolor satin today,, I bought VHT penetrating vinyl die,, said satin black on the add,?. I have two set's of backrest and side pocket's, will give it a try :builder:
