I have a 84 Goldwing Interstate. Some of the GL1200s have that chrome crash guard that goes around the saddle bags and wraps around the back of the bike as in this picture. Mine does not have this. Just wondering if I were to find one of these guards, could it be installed on my bike quite easily? Or is there some extra mounting holes or something that those bikes had that mine would not?

Should be a bolt on ordeal, Mine (1100) has clamshell brackets that afix to the chrome hoops in front of the saddlebags then two chrome brackets on either side of the rear fender that hold up the rear..those do not appear in the pictured 1200 and may have a different mount for the rear but the front should be the same, the pictured one looks identical to mine.
I took a closer look at the pic and the two rear brackets/struts are probably under the black plastic shroud that is between the saddlebags , I am certain of that..could be the 1100 bumper fits the 1200 as well..that would be good to know if you looking for one, Need to be verified of course.
