tempeture sending unit

Trying to help a friend take care of some issues before a trip.
Where is the temeture sending unit located(for gauge)on a 82?

The fan kicks on and off,and the fuel gauge is accurate.But the temp guage does not register.

Tory, it is right behind the thermostat housing.

Follow the top hose to the thermostat housing and it should have a wire atttach to a sending unit that threads into this housing...
