If it's running good how you want then why bother.

i know, but, i bought it so i have ta try it

If you have a good running system atm I would put some serious miles on the bike before changing anything. The Rats Nest has a second hand rack from a 200k of Alex80 that has only been bolted on and Steve and I didn't feel the need to do a carby sink or adjust the idle down ( 1400 warm 900 cold no choke). It is on my to do list but I have put at least 10k miles of hard riding with the current set up

my MPG run today

great ...funny how the jetting changes seem different from bike to bike ... certainly no where neat stock jetting ... glad you got it going good :clapping:
Might be something to do with how much the plenum is being heated. Tom has always stressed that these carbs only work right if the plenum is heated...a lot.

Brian

my plenum is cold/wet on the out side for the first few miles. after that it warms up and dries off and warn to the touch. its gettin the heat off the engine AND taking hot air into the carb. its not like it has a cold air intake. the intake elbows, runners and hot and the plenum is warm. when i took the carb off yesterday i saw NO puddling in the plenum,in fact it was really dry

just did another MPG test, idle jet #50, main jet(drilled with a 1.30mm bit) the air bleed and tube 220. went 85mi and took 1.9gal===== 44.7. stayed at 50/60mph most of the time
