And thanks for the help on my project by the way. This one has been scary, and I have a lot on the line with this one. I appreciate all the assistance you have given. Now that I have the ol girl acting semi normal, now I get to start playing with the jets too, so I will be following.

Nice burst into secondary!

I put a mention above the pics those are video's because I didn't know at first.

no,cause i have the primary air bleed(165),well tube(X05) and the secondary main jet(.95) in the secondary

my primary is #50 idle jet,220 air bleed, T02 well tube, and the drilled out #105 main jet to 1.30mm drill bit.

today i disabled the power valve(blocked the vac port and took the spring out) it didnt like that. was good till about 3 ta 4 thousand then went to starving. i choke it a lil, come right out of it and run fine. so i enabled the PV. then to work on the idle. so i soldered the #50 idle jet hole, then used a torch tip cleaning tool(un known size but alot smaller. ill get the size later) it ream a new hole. then put all the jets back to to the factory location. now my idle is almost there,it will smooth out for a second or 2 then go lumpy. so my jets are..Primary--idle jet was a #50( un known at the moment) primary well tube(X05), air bleed #160, main jet was a #105(now a 1.30mm drill)..... secondary-- idle jet #60, well tube T02,air bleed #220 and main jet #.95. and installed toms parts and the factory style air filter.then took it on a MPG run. i took the same route as the other day but a few miles longer(its a nice day for a ride)..... 100.2mi and took 2.3gal===== 43.56. im good with that....i think

yes that how the power valve works ...on hooch the vacuum signal was so strong that the non adjusting power valve just screwed everything up down low ....thats why i went strait carb cause its all adjustable ... it seems some motors do well with it ... but it sounds to me like the secondary is falling off and its the power valve in the primary thats keeping the revs going ... with 95 gas jet ...220 air ....its getting a large dose of air ... id try 160 air in the secondary where its 220 now .. that should wake that secondary up ...

but dont listen to me ...your getting quite good at this....if is doing well with power valve on your motor you might be where you need to be ...nice report

maybe go bigger gas jet in the sec. seeing its gettin alot of air....... what does the idle jet do in the sec.?? do it control how much fuel comes comes out that lil hole up by the chokes

yes its like the transition circuit for secondary ...and also if cruising fast and secondary is slighly open the idle jet there is what feeds it..... it seems to me at high rpm flow of air is great and a lean condition happens fast ...these carbs were set up lean as the jet indicate and is the reason for the power valve ...it was also set up for a low rpm motor ...witch really put it in a bad zone to me in jetting as the oldwing motor more than twice the rpm these carbs were set up for ....so to me jetting is big deal and i have hard time thinking jetting is close ...it certainly wasnt for hooch at all... but again my carb is bigger and hooch is not your regular oldwing

well that 740 works beauty(except for the idle) me and my honey took a ride today up around Meridith,Lacoina,Weirs Beach area. put 115mi and ran beauty.
