Wow! Those plugs are running slobbering rich! Carbs need some attention. Maybe floats too high or mix screws too far out or something.

that carb set i cleaned them and put them on my other gl1100 and it ran good. But since then I took the idle jets out and the centers were all pluged up so I got them uncloged and installed back in carbs and mounted carb rack on this motor.

I though they were to be open thru centers.
Only up to the barrier. it works using the side holes of the tube.

You didn't notice the brass as you "unclogged" them? :headscratch:

Ok I guess I will pull carbs and replace idle jets with the other 4 that I have which I have not cleaned the centers out. I though something was wrong when I had 8 idle jets all cloged in the center. But what do I know.

I checked an idle jet on my 83 rack and there IS a hole all the way through it.

ok sheesh we have to figure this out ...you need to put this motor on t1 in timing cap hole and the take pics of the cam pulley ...i think you are uaing the wrong marks maybe ... sheesh if this turns out to be those phantom marks honda put on the cam pulley there simply no good reason for that ..

I wouldn't worry so much about the rich plugs,,,,need to sort out the tapping. That is bad.
Are you certain you're using the correct marks on the cam gear pullies?
They can be confusing and easy to mistake.

Click the link to "CGW youtube channel" above. I made a video to identify the correct marks.

Will check video on timing. I will take picture torowo of cam timing gear. I know there are like 2 or 3 marks on them.
Yes! which is why I made the video.
I was bit with the same problem identifying the correct marks.
