I didn't realise but for quite some time now I have been limping without realising. Friends that have only know me for the last 3 or 4 years have only ever know me with a limp as I have since found out.
2 years ago I went to the Doc but never really followed it up until January this year when I was having trouble sleeping. After X-rays etc it was confirmed that my left hip joint needs to be replaced. We have a public health system that we all contribute to and I was lucky enough to be accepted to have the surgery for free in the next 8 months. Unfortunately the type of surgery performed in our public hospitals is posterior hip replacement only. After consulting with the public surgeon ( who's does mainly shoulders, knees and some hips ) we decided to see a private surgeon who has specialised in anterior hip surgery for the last 5 years. I am booked in for a ceramic replacement hip joint on the 14th of December. The recovery time is greatly reduced for anterior surgery and theoretically I should be able to continue riding with only a slim chance of joint dislocations. :moped: :good:
