...it can now be officially considered a "Classic". And so, still abiding by the charter of this fine establishment:

" This forum was created in April of 2007 to provide owners with the most accurate information available to us for the flat 4 and 6 cylinder Goldwings."

A thread on the beloved Valkyrie seems in order. Yeah, I know, there have already been a few. But, they weren't compilations of photos of Valkyries of members here. So, whaddaya think? Is a photo thread celebrating 20 years of the Valkyrie in order?

Roll 'em out! Here's my Bumblebee:

It was a great trip. 1800 miles. 50 gallons of fuel. 98% two lane (by design). We planned on camping our way around. Ended up spending exactly two nights under the stars - in two weeks. (It was an active monsoon year last year). We dodged rain from day one. Stay mostly dry'ish. Mostly.

High point? Antelope steaks and too much red wine just off the Zuni Indian Reservation, camped on a cliff overlooking a wide valley with a blazing lightning show that stayed to our south that night. I will carry that image to my grave.

We were supposed to overnight in Durango but only made it as far as Cortez from Vegas after meeting Randy in HD parking lot, where I installed the iphone mount on the dash with some of his help in Aug 2013 on the Rats Nest. Great photos by all and plenty of good looking " Fat Girls" :good:

I've always thought of the Valk as an elegant Honda power cruiser. The engine looks very nice and with the right pipes they sound cool. I've never owned one but would. They don't pop up for sale locally that often but do hold their value much better than old wings.

:good:

That would be cool, My reaction when anybody ask what is it ? My answer has always been a Naked Goldwing ! or a GL 1500, Always liked the Boxer 4 and 6 banger GL motors and when it comes to dependability No body can argue about that. Also FYI i enjoy this group and info more than any Valkyrie forum i have visited. Also i always wondered how far you can push these motors..It appears VERY FAR !! 15 years original owner

I've seen many report over 300K and a couple of reports of 500K without an overhaul or spliting the cases on 1500's.

Yep i seen the fella on the VRCC that has over 500 k miles it still looks nice also ! They really are built like tanks lol

Mine has 48k. A buddy's has 149k. 100k difference and I'll be danged if we can detect any difference in performance! We recently parted one out with 185k. The only reason was it hydrolocked and the motor needed to be pulled to replace starter gearing. Owner bailed for dirt cheap. (On a Valk, hydrolocking doesn't bend rods, it breaks gears - but it's a major irritation).

Beautiful bike Greg. How many miles on the supercharged version?
Thanks..bike has 42k miles. Blower was installed at 13K miles so close to 30K miles now on the Blower, About 2 Tanks of Nitrous Oxide every season. that would be around 10 pulls of the trigger, around 5 seconds each trigger is going to fast, Try to stay under 100 mph but i like to get there in less than 11 seconds, Magnacharger gives a 100.000 mile warranty with the kit, but after 13 years no problems. Have heard a few broke piston ring lands, Most likely no timing retard or Lean fuel, I run 2 Electric fuel pumps with regulators and pressure gauges to monitor. Dyna 3000 ign with Rev limiter set at 8500 rpm , stock is 7200 rpm , This also brings the top speed in 5th gear to around 155 mph, not that i will be going that fast

Re-read my post, The damaged Motors were other owners rides that were unsuccessful with Detonation problems. Not mine. Have had lots experience with NOS and Turbo VW motors in the past
