I had a 500 triple 2 stroke for a bit. Dad rode it once and made us sell it, said it was too dangerous after he popped a wheelie when the power finally came on lol. It was definitely a sleeper with its quiet tone. I remember the sound to this day. Good times!

Clutch might be dragging. Might get better as miles are put on. I had similar occur because of a plugged scavenger pump. Hopefully thats not the problem.

Instantly shutting off would be electrical. Check the kill switch is centered to ON, also check all the relays and fuses are tight and contacts are clean. That's about all I got.
