installing electric fuel pump on my 76

got pump installed and running. However I do like the tip switch idea and ordered a used one on ebay for 7.50 When I get it I'll wire it up to my relay and change relay to normally open and use switch to cut power to pump. Thanks for pointing that idea out Steve. Here's pic of before and after...

installing electric fuel pump on my 76

Having it working with oil pressure is a safety feature in case bike goes down and engine stops (with key still on ). At that point pump will stop and less chance of even more problems (fire and such ) Using two separate circuits was just something I did without any real reasoning but does allow...

installing electric fuel pump on my 76

My fuel pump started to leak and so now is the time to install electric pump. Decided to use the 85 prelude pump and found one at rock auto for under $30 ( I think ) I want to power it through a relay so I found a junkyard toyota 30 amp relay. Here is how I wired it. (this is for the folks that...

ianstaley's single build with VW plenum and Weber 32/32 dft

just my 2 cents worth, it seems a springer front end looks best on slim bikes and not as appealing on a wider engine bike like our wings. dave

finished valve stem seals timing belts and more

I've had the bike most of its life but it also sat for most of its life for various reasons. With single carb on it I now am putting much more frequent miles on it. Plus running it harder than ever before. ('cause it's fun ) I used to probably keep in the 3000 to 5000 rpm range in days past. I...

finished valve stem seals timing belts and more

Any recommendations for a radiator sealer for a pinhole leak in core? I can't buy, or recore right now. I have used alumaseal in cars with good luck but am concerned about possible pump issues with sealer. Thanks

Honda shop manual says to use a sealer on rocker assembly where assembly meets head and where it meets cam holder. Anybody know what sealer they are talking about? they list sealers as three bond #4 or #20 or# 2 #4 is listed as used on head #20 on oil pressure switch #2 on temp switch and...

thank you all. I'm going to keep a close eye on my oil consumption for a bit to see if I need to r and r the seals soon. for now compiling info. blue smoke on heavy de-accel points me toward seals going bad. dave

    resistor for ignition

Ok, here is what I ended up doing. Dyna website says use 1 to 2 ohm resistor for 3 ohm (green) coils and points. That's me. I went to site joe mentioned above,(thanks Joe) and purchased a custom resistor pak. One wire in, teed to 2 one resistors, one each to each coil. Emailed with hondaman...
