    What's it worth?

I tend to agree. I think I'll offer him $200, sell the LTD-specific items off of it and use some of the other parts for my '75 project. Wish it had the oem tool kit but it does have the owners manual. Wonder why Honda bothered to chrome plate the kick start lever when it's not seen?

    What's it worth?

A customer wants me to sell this '76 GL1000 LTD for him. 55K miles, all there but has been sitting under a tarp for years. 2 cylinders have zero compression and the other 2 have 70# and 90#. It would take a LOT of work to put this one back on the road. To me, it's worth very little but I'd like...

    Hello from Missouri...Again

Yep...Just as I predicted. First, some unexpected expenses popped up. Now, I'm too busy to spend any time on the project. I managed to bead blast a bunch of parts. That's it. Now I have a pile of parts stacked up in the corner of the shop. I'll be back when I go to put this...

    16" wheel/shocks

I can get a set of Progressive 12 Series shocks with chrome springs for $207. I'm leaning that direction...for now.

    16" wheel/shocks

These Monroe shocks were on the bike.

    16" wheel/shocks

Think I'll just stay with a 130/90-16 tire and go with the 14" shocks to put the ride height back to stock. Still haven't decided what brand of shock to get.

    16" wheel/shocks

While tearing down this '75 of mine, I noticed the rear wheel is 16" instead of 17". :headscratch: A little investigating revealed that Lester made a 16" but not a 17" for these bikes. Needing new shocks, I'm thinking about going with 14" shocks instead of the 13.5" to get the height back to...

    Hello from Missouri...Again

I dunno. It's a time or money thing with me. The two never coincide. Right now I have the time and a little money set aside. A month from now, probably not so much money. Winter sucks for the motorcycle business in Missouri. We'll see what I can get done before April, when business picks back...

    Easy part's done.

    Hello from Missouri...Again

I hear ya. 40 yr. old wiring makes me nervous. I'd invest in a new wiring harness if there was such a thing.

    Hello from Missouri...Again

I was going to pitch 'em when I got the front end off. Want them? My intentions are to put the bike back stock. All the pieces are there. The plastic is in good shape and the color is good. The frame and related pieces need fresh paint. Motor only has 30,000 miles on it so it shouldn't need...

    Hello from Missouri...Again

I was here about 5 years ago but never got off the ground. I'm finally getting around to restoring a '75 GL1000. I'm a motorcycle mechanic (more ATV) by trade but far from a Goldwing expert. Looking forward to everyone's help with this project. Thanks.

Time for me to address the 800lb Gorilla in the room.(Engine knock thread) REVIVED!

Have you checked carb synch with the new cams? I've seen more than one low-rpm "knock" cured with a carb synch.

Need Float Bowl (Not any more but have 3 available now)

I didn't find any 1100 float bowls. Just 1000 bowls. I do have a complete set of carbs for an 1100. How's $75 sound?

Need Float Bowl (Not any more but have 3 available now)

Let me see what I can find. I remember seeing a couple boxes of carbs.

    Hello from Missouri

I missed out on a 24' box truck a guy gave away. Even had a lift on the back of it. I can use about anything. No neighbors to complain about an eyesore. Just have to hide it behind the barn, out of the wife's line of sight. I came across an old Matco tool truck with no engine or tranny for...

    Hello from Missouri

That's part of the problem. This guy doesn't have a lowboy. He moves mobile and modular homes and I guess those trailers sit taller.

    Hello from Missouri

I don't know if the guy I got all this from was on this board or not. If not, he should have been. His name is Bill Hayes from Fayette, MO. Some of you may know or know of him. He's suffering from severe dementia and is in a nursing home now. He dismantled several GL1000's and saved...

    Hello from Missouri

I've got boxes and boxes to go through before I know exactly what I have. Along with the many boxes are engines, wheels, fenders, rear drives, fairings, exhausts and on and on....
