Welcome, Mark. I've only been a member for 2 weeks and have picked up tips and tricks I wouldn't have found in a month of reading the Clymer Manual. Great bunch of guys, great source of information. Wish there was more on the events and rally page 'cause I'de love to meet some of these guys...

If you aren't seen you should be heard.... AKA New Horns

I've always liked the look of the aftermarket finned horn covers, but they don't fit on my '83 domed horns. Found a set of '78 flat horns on eBay, made brackets to fit the stock mount location, and snapped on the cool new covers. Now they don't work. :Awe: Same fuse as the turn signals which...

Thanks for the welcome. I'll make sure I start the bike outside the garage when I try the ATF trick.

Gas price, OUCH! ("Gas" thread merged with this one)

Last time I filled my empty 'Wing it was $12.60 in November; last nite was $16.20 with a $.05/gal. discount for cash. Gotta get those air cutoff valves replaced!

New Member in upstate New York looking for tips and tricks to maintain/upgrade my 1983 GL1100 Standard. Picked up the bike late summer '09. Found some pretty clean mounts and Interestate bags on eBay (<$200), repainted the whole bike black with gold flake (pretty cool upcolor from the original...
