What I use to get them trees and such outta the way. Ha ha. Makes short work of that stuff. You have done a super nice job there, Joe.

    1985 engine in 1984 bike.

Tried to get the guy to send some pictures before I went to look at it as it's 30 miles from me. Still no pictures. Probably been out side like you say and half full of water.

    1985 engine in 1984 bike.

Thanks joedrum. I was thinking his price was high but wasn't for sure. Think I'll just wait for a better one to come around. Don't need an engine right now anyway.

    1985 engine in 1984 bike.

Been a while since I have been here. Heart troubles and just life in general got in the way of my 1984 GL1200i project. I have a question about engine swapping. I found a 1985 1200 engine from an Aspencade with 75k miles on it for $350. Just wondering if I should pick it up for a spare in case I...

    New-to-me goldwing hauler

Yup. One of those close calls (bunch of stiches in my head) convinced me to build the loader setup posted earlier in this thread. I had rode my Harley up and down the ramp in the truck for years. And then one day....... It all happened so fast that I can't say for sure what happened. I am...

    New-to-me goldwing hauler

Lots of reasons to haul a street bike. If you buy one not running, and it's several hundred miles from home. I would much rather make that trip with the bike in the back of the truck instead of dragging a trailer behind. Much easier to park, get gas, etc. Trailers are fine on good roads, but...

    EPMI carbs any good?

Found a new Weber IDF for the same price as a new EPMI. The EPMI HPMX is a Chinese copy of the IDF.

    EPMI carbs any good?

Thanks all for the information and support. Now I just need to collect all the stuff and finish putting my tig welder together. That is another project all in itself.

    EPMI carbs any good?

I am willing to take the time to get the tuning correct. The Mikuni PHH on my MGB serviced 2 cylinders from each barrel. It really wasn't that much trouble to tune that setup. It was much easier than the two SU carbs on some of my previous MGs. All it takes is time, and I have lots of patience...

    EPMI carbs any good?

Just starting to collect the pieces and parts. Think I will use the pre-made stainless steel grab bars and design it to center the carb exactly in the middle between cylinders. Will give me a chance to learn tig welding. I thought about fuel injection, but I just like carbureters since I grew up...

    EPMI carbs any good?

I guess if I built the manifold right, I could change it fairly easily from one to the other configuration if one didn't work out. Then again, neither way may not work out. Who knows till you try. Well....somebody probably knows.

    EPMI carbs any good?

I am looking at a 40 with 28mm horn in it. Just want to use one. I was asking if the best way to build the manifold. Using one barrel for front cylinders and other barrel for rear. O r should I build the manifold to let both barrels service all four cylinders. I think there was some...

Another hopefully easy question, carb gaskets dry or wet?

Absolutely never, ever, ever use silicone rtv with gasoline. Nothing but problems will come. If I use anything, it is Permatex aviation sealer. And only use sparingly as it can be messy.

    EPMI carbs any good?

Joe, I have read a lot of your and other peoples posts about single carbs on Wings. You guys have done a lot of work in this area and I have learned alot. It will help me to not make some of the mistakes others have. I asked about the brand here cause I respect the lessons you all have been good...

    EPMI carbs any good?

Are EPMI carbs any good? I read a lot of pro and con's on the net and was curious what the general feelings are here. Looking to make the move to a single carb mod on my 1984 1200.

Dan's Solex type 32 PICB trial and review and dft comparison

I am interested in this conversion for my 1984 Goldwing. I can't seem to locate one of these Solex type 32 PICB carbs. Does anyone know of a source for these new?
