I have a trunk from an 1100 Interstate. I am not sure which year bike the trunk came off of, but it is missing the back rest: are the back rests interchangeable between the years?

Well I think I got a good deal. I originally thought I was getting a trunk and rack from one guy for $85 but his rack was the rack on top of the trunk and not the rack that attaches to the bike (remember to ask the right questions). I found another trunk/rack (the correct rack) on Clist and he agreed to the $85 I wanted to pay, but it was missing the back rest. Through the conversations I have been having with him, I am now getting the trunk, both bags, and the bag crash guards for $150.00. Oh and he found the back rest pad, so I won't need to go on the hunt for one.

Oh I love it but momma hates it!
Of course! Shopping is womans domain. Competition is highly frowned upon. Especially if it depletes available finance resources. :smilie_happy:

I will be doing that later today, but first...

If I remove the "Interstate" from the bags, what am I going to find? On the inside it looks like there are just some water proofing stickers with nothing to keep the plate in place. What keeps those Word plates on the bags?

If there are no pins inside behind the emblems. They are most likely held on with emblem adhesive or tape. Emblem tape is a very thin foam with double side adhesive. So they may be able to be removed carefully with a strong putty knife.

Well everything went on easily enough for a test fit and nothing fell off on the test ride, but now I have a problem. The colors really do not match. I guess I have a paint job in the future. Now if I could just find the time between two jobs, a house remodel, fishing seasons about to open, it is Spring and the weather is FINALLY warming up enough to ride, etc, etc, etc. The paint might have to wait for the winter.

By the way, do those bags make my butt look fat?

Black matches everything. From the photos they look great and I certainly wouldn't waste any riding time on a color match. :good:
