My bike at about 3000 RPM puts out close to 16 volts measured right on the battery with a volt meter. This is the cure I read about some where, Three wires going to regulator. Black, yellow green. I hear you cut black wire and put in a relay that is energized from the one end of the black and other end of the black goes to positive on battery. I know you need a fuse some where. Please let me know where to put the fuse and what size fuse. A diagram of this would help. Thanks.

Looked at the wiring diagram:

The black wire is an electrical system voltage sense wire that is switched on/off with the ignition switch. No need to change the black wire. The wiring change you allude to, is not addressing the root cause for the issue.

Would recommend testing the stator output, regulator and rectifier before doing any wiring changes.

A clean up of the connectors is always a good thing. Bad connector grounds will cause the electrical system to operate less than efficiently. Make sure the frame grounds are good as well.

Good luck. Cheers

Yes, clean the connectors on the sense lead to the regulator, and if that doesn't do it, you will need to replace your rectifier and regulator with a combo reg/rect as I don't believe the regulators are made anymore. I had to do that on one bike.
