hello again Goldwing wizards, I come to you this evening with a humble question...
How do I get this tank off? I have a shiny new set of carbs ready to install but before I do I need to address this rusty tank issue. I was thinking acid and a bunch bolts, bb's and such, shake well and serve?..but the tank would like to stay where it's at it seems
Oh mighty wizards of Goldwing please instruct your humble padawan.

That is correct, remove the rear wheel, slide out the fender, remove the 2 bolts at the top front and...while using a rubber mallet.....gently knock the tank back out of the holder. I sometimes start the tank out by using a wide blade screwdriver right at the tank mount tang and gently wedge it back.

Terrific, This is what I was looking for on tank removal. WooHoo, gotta take the rear tire off any way to get a new one put on.
Thanks for the information.
