1983 Honda radio system – radio, cassette, CB

I bought yet another bike and it came with the full Honda style radio system. The previous owner started to disassemble this bike to sell as parts – thus I have a rolling basket case - I intend to put the bike back into serviceable condition as a naked bike.

Anyway, due to the fairing already being removed and radio partial disassembled from the fairing I don’t have a good way to test this unit but would like to remove the entire radio system from the fairing and sell the radio system it if it’s worth anything.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what this radio system might be worth?

Is it just me or does this mod look yuck? As to value it is only what the second hand radios are worth, here in Oz aftermarket stereos are worth hardly anything where good quality 2way radios have value.

Tested and working is better to sell, even still nobody really know what the seller mean by "working". My 80 model had a drift and distortion problem cause by tuning capacitors, I could easily say it works but it really doesnt, these old radios are getting to the point where the electronics are drying out, belts in decks are broken or needing replaced, heads need alignment. I seen a set on ebay minus the cassette bring 36 bucks and around 30 shipping, I don't recall if it was tested or not but looked clean.
Parting it out is another option, someone may want the cassette but not the radio, might realize more that way but be aware that when it sells and if it doesn't work people sometimes will send them back, even if it does work they may send back their non working old one so cover yourself on the auction site.

PhotoDoctor, I'm interested in the gauge cluster between the speakers. I'd like to adapt something like that to the vacant radio space in the dash of my '87 Interstate. Dunno if it's anywhere close to fitting that space, but if you could give the dimensions of it, length & width, and what gauges they are, I might be willing to take it off your hands. :thanks:

As a side note the radio and equipment sold to buyer in Germany for over $ 300.00 and they paid the shipping ..... and they were happy to get it!
