7 Dead after truck plows into motorcycles :sensored: :sensored: :sensored:

Looking at the photos, it's pretty clear cut who left their lane. A group of 7 touring bikes don't just "kamikaze" head on into a lone pickup forcing it off the opposite side of the road. Newscasters seem to believe everyone is either blind or ignorant. I've had over 25 friends and acquaintances killed or seriously injured on bikes by cars, trucks, and trailers. And it never fails that a large portion of the public just blows off bikes as being "deadly", instead of the careless cagers that cause all the carnage. Eventually some left-wing safety-nazi is going to try to outlaw bikes for our own "good". For God's sake, I wish people would just leave the govt. out of this; they have made things bad enough as it is. None of my friends ever came back from the dead, no matter how much the rest of us riders got "punished" and regulated afterwards. I would be in favor of abolishing taxes for all bike riders who use public roads, and public funds for the medical care of the survivors, but that certainly will never happen.

This is an incredible tragedy and just goes to prove that even though you may be in the right it doesn’t help when someone decides to take you out. :crying:

At the very least, I can tell you that those boys lost their lives on some of the most beautiful riding roads in the United States. New Hampshire is perfect motorcycle country. That this happened there is a tragedy in many ways.

I found this update by surprise just now. A 23 year old Russian kid did this! Ever see how those crazy :sensored: :sensored: :sensored: people drive? The nutcase had already been arrested several times prior, the last being about a month before this heinous act! So much for being "protected by the law"

Well, it wasn't very cheery.
However, on a lighter note, I am going on a 2-up "motorcycle date" tomorrow morning, on the GL1100 for the 1st time in 16 years! Should prove to be interesting, or at least entertaining, I hope, lol!

Two suspected DUIs/DWIs?

We had someone arrested for his 28th.

I'm sure the guy has a severe alcoholism problem, and I don't feel hatred for him, but he should have been locked up for life well before his 28th DUI/DWI. Dude has a problem, and nothing seems to stop him from driving drunk other than being locked up. If a low security, dormitory-style prison works, better for the rest of us (it's cheaper!). But he's proven, time and again, that if he's out, he'll drive drunk.
