I think it bolts on to the bottom of the windshield, on top of the trim piece there. It is prolly s'posed to re-route the airflow before solids(bugs, etc) hit the windshield....

Thats makes sense I guess, Dont plan on heading south east so It wont do me any good.

Added in front of the shield to me it'd look like a rain gutter. I don't think many got used.
