Gord, get the '82 rotors too! I had '81 single piston calipers on '82 vented rotors and they really did not work right. The pads rode over the vents and kept wearing out prematurely. I just installed rebuilt '82 dual piston calipers with the vented rotors and it made a world of difference.
 
Not only that....the solid '81 rotors are thicker than the vented '82 rotors by at least 2MM. I have two sets of '82 vented and one set of '81 solid and the thickness surprised me. (Unfortuneately, both sets are warped! :head bang: )
 
And the 82 rotors have a shim behind them .....

Almost as if Honda wasn't thinking 31 years down the road ....

Yea...and I was missing one shim to make it worse. Tried to order them, but turns out they are not made anymore. Made a new one with gasket material.
