83 back rest swap to an 84

The final proof to this pudding is just try it, anyway, anybody "know" if a Backrest from an 83 Interstate will swap over to an 84 interstate? Measurements seems to make it close, but maybe the side covers on the 84 different enough to not let it happen? While I'm at it, how about a seat swap, 83 over to 84? Figured I'd ask first, cuz if its a no then it would save me pulling the parts and find it out for myself! ....... Crowe .... :Egyptian:

the seat will not interchange, which back rest are you talking about, driver or passenger

............... drivers backrest, frame work connects to frame front of seat, the triangle support, then back to shock mount ..... @ 19" on both but thinking theres a width issue on 84, both seat and sidecovers, close enough that its worth the try but still maybe save time if anybody has tried it already .......
