well im fixing to try the 77 1000 carbs on the 83 .....ive been working on them since i took them off the 77 1000 bike ive been restoring ....the 77 has 1100 carbs on it now .....so i just got in from installing the 1000 carbs on the 83 ....there were quite the problems with the rack pluged idle jets all four carbs ...even the secondary jets too ....some other stuff also ....this was not a complete overhaul and my carb program is lacking big time on success so ive got my fingers crossed and hoping for the best ....wont be long now before i know ...i will post the outcome shortly

varoom is working im thrilled :Egyptian: :Egyptian: :Egyptian: :Egyptian:  :yahoo: :yahoo:

im thrilled 1000 carbs witch are bigger than 1100 carbs on the 83 .....idleing good some slight popping goin on not much ....1000 carbs and early 75 cams and 1100 ignition....cant wait to test ride this baby to see what difference in carbs make

Running rich will cause plug fouling and smoke. No worries on burning valves or pistons though.

Yah I was not tinken--lean will cause the other problem. THX fer settin me strait. mrgeo :thanks: :hi:

its realy early on in the testing as how its rich lean or perfect ....but its setup in stock form as in carb setting ...i rather happy how easy it starts and all ....i thinking after a few tanks of ATF mix it will be even better ....its amazing how snappy the response is ......ive never been a crochrocket guy but as for me the ranks up there with the fastest bike ive ever owned for sure.....this is one mean angry dresser ......its got the kind of speed that you want to be careful with
